The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT) are inviting applications for a middle grade doctor to join our experienced and high-performing Clinical Haematology team. This post is a new post due to the increased clinical demand for the service.
This is an exciting opportunity to join UHMBT. The post will be based at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, which is in the historic city of Lancaster and close to the beautiful Lake District, with great educational opportunities for all ages, affordable housing, and easy access by road and rail to Manchester, Liverpool and beyond. However, a key element of this post is the ability of the post-holder to work across the Bay area at the Trust’s other sites in Kendal (Westmorland General Hospital – approx. 20 miles from Lancaster) and Barrow (Furness General Hospital, approximately 46 miles from Lancaster).
You will be part of an established team which comprises 6 Consultants and a number of Clinical Nurse Specialists.
If you are highly motivated and have a desire to further your career along with an appetite for innovation and driving change then we welcome your enquiry & application. The Trust will also support the successful applicant in their ambition to achieve Consultant grade via the CESR route.
The Trust has a keen interest and deep involvement in medical and dental education at both undergraduate and post graduate levels. Medical Students from Lancaster Medical School receive the whole of their education, academic and clinical, in Cumbria and North Lancashire following the Liverpool undergraduate medical curriculum. UHMBT is the lead NHS organisation and takes responsibility throughout the five years of the degree for the provision of acute practice placements. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to support the further development of Medicine in this area. The University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Trust are keen to support enthusiastic and committed individuals and in return, we offer excellent development and training support as well as a suitable relocation package for a permanent appointee and appropriate SPA allowance for the right candidate.
Interview expenses will be paid from the point on entry in the UK upon taking up the post, if this is an overseas appointment. Travel to and from the UK is at the candidates own expense.
All applicants must hold full GMC with a licence to practice
We would encourage interested candidates to visit the department by arrangement
