An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated band 5 staff nurse to join the team on Langdale North and South which is situated in the heart of the Lake District.

The Step up Step down Unit has a bed base of 46 beds across two wards and focuses on a high standard of holistic assessment and care planning of patients who are admitted from both Community services and secondary care. The aim is to be able to facilitate early patient discharge through a Multi-Disciplinary team approach working with partners from both health and social care. You will therefore develop the ethos of integrated care and seamless services ensuring that patient care is delivered to the highest possible standard.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Advanced Nurse Practitioner to work within Millom Community Hospital

Millom Hospital has a nine bedded inpatient ward which provides care for the local community for patients with a wide variety of health needs including palliative and end of life care. We also support patients with on-going nursing medical and therapy need when recovering from exacerbations of chronic conditions.

Millom Hospital is at the heart of Millom integrated care community and also includes therapy team, district nursing team, case management team and GP Practice. The Advanced nurse practitioner will work closely with these teams to support Multi Disciplinary Team working and also be involved within service improvement.

The Nurse Practitioner will provide expert care and treatment to patients within agreed protocols and clinical guidelines. However the Nurse Practitioner will also have the ability to make decisions outside these frameworks, where necessary based on best practice.

Work with clinical colleagues lead the development of clinical services within medicine and improve the quality of care delivered.

There would be an opportunity to discuss about rotation into other areas to promote the development of skills.

Abbey View is looking for recruit a dedicated and motivated staff nurse to work within the heart of the Lake District area. You will be expected to develop their skills and have a commitment to deliver high quality care to a range of patients with differing and often complex presentations.

This is an exciting time to join the Medical division at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with the opening of our new acute stroke unit.

The service allows all patients with suspected acute stroke to be admitted directly to a dedicated Acute Stroke Unit under the care of a stroke specialist multidisciplinary team.

The unit is a 6 bedded unit with 1 admission/assessment trolley. In addition the unit will be staffed to the British Association of Stroke Physicians (BASP) recommended staffing levels for acute stroke beds. This will be 2.9 nurses per bed with a ratio of 80:20 trained to untrained. Following the acute phase patients will be moved to Ward 23 which is a 24 bedded unit which hosts patient undergoing rehabilitation The unit is supported by the stroke team (ANP and CNS) and staff are all encouraged to undertake specific stroke training. Again BASP staffing guidelines will be adhered to.

We are looking for dynamic nurses to work in the unit and be involve with the evolution of the stoke pathway. There will be a focus on the development of robust systems for clinical governance, which will give assurance to the division. The development of the professional education is also an important aspect of this role, as it will ensure that staff are equipped with the right skills to carry out their roles. To enable staff to be involved in the whole stroke pathway, staff will have the opportunity to work on the acute stroke unit and undertake rotational posts to update skills on all areas of the stroke pathway including outreaching to the Emergency Department, and on the Stroke Rehabilitation Ward.

You will also be supported to attend the ward management development course.

The department is committed to appraisal, to support continuous education and professional development. Applicants will be required to participate in providing 24 hour cover.

The AMU is the first in the country to receive GSF accreditation. Training and development is very highly commended within the organisation.
