A rare opportunity has arisen in the Neonatal Service at Furness General Hospital and we are looking to recruit Band 6 Neonatal Nurses that have experience in the care of the preterm and sick infant and are qualified in specialty. The post will be primarily based at Furness General SCBU, however all posts are Cross Bay.

The Special Care Baby Unit is integrated into the brand new Maternity Unit, South Lakes Birth Centre. It is a Level 1 unit caring for babies born from 32 weeks gestation and has four special care cots plus a dedicated stabilisation facility for sick and preterm babies born at any gestation who are then transferred to a tertiary unit via a dedicated Network Neonatal Transport Team if required. There is also a two-bedded Transitional Care facility for those babies who do not require admission to the Special Care Baby Unit, however require additional support from the Neonatal Team, whilst preventing separation of the babies and their parents.

The Neonatal Unit at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) is a level 2 unit, including 1 intensive care cot, 2 High Dependency cots and 7 Special Care cots.

Kendal District Nurses  has an exciting opportunity to recruit to a 30hr fixed term band 5 post for 12 months.

We would like an enthusiastic and highly motivated band 5 Community Nurse who will be happy to work in an evolving district nursing service. The successful applicant will be committed to working closely with health and social care colleagues to provide high quality care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions in the community setting.

The role requires excellent communication skills as you will be undertaking complex nursing assessments and developing and delivering programmes of care for patients and carers. We are looking to recruit a full time Community Specialist Practitioner to lead a District Nursing Team based in Morecambe. The appointed practitioner will take the lead role and be accountable for the performance, quality and clinical effectiveness of the team.

You will have responsibility for managing a highly complex clinical caseload of patients who have diverse complexities of need utilising all appropriate resources effectively. This will involve prioritising, assessing, co-ordinating, delivering and reviewing whole programmes of care delivered.

You will manage the overall day to day operational workload for the team, ensuring timely appraisals, mandatory training compliance, sickness management and all relating human resource activity with the support of the HR team.

You will ensure high standards of care are delivered to patients and their families/carers within their home environment. This includes liaising with staff, patient/carers and other agencies/organisations as required ensuring appropriate delegation of duties and risk management.

You will contribute to service development and integration with health and social care providers and represent the team at the ICC meetings

To work within and be mindful of effective resource and budget management.

We are looking to appoint a Community Specialist Practitioner (CSP) qualified Band 6 District Nursing Assistant Team Leader (D/N) to work across Windermere and Grange areas as part of the Integrated Care Community (ICC’s).

The Post Holder will be required to work as an integral part of the Community Nursing Team; flexible working will be required to meet the needs of the patients and will hold 24 hour delegated responsibility for the team caseload. Whilst working with other health care professionals the post holder will develop the ethos of integrated care and seamless services ensuring that patient care is delivered to the highest possible standard.

The post holder’s role will be to:

  • Support the Team Lead in providing clinical leadership and management of the clinical caseload for the team

Royal Lancaster Infirmary Emergency Department see’s approximately 5000 patient each month, as a Registered Nurse with us you will be able to work across all areas of the specialty including Triage, Minor Injuries and Illness (Ambulatory Pathway), Majors (Clinical Assessment) and in our Resuscitation Room as we are a Trauma Unit receiving road and air ambulances from the as far as the Lake District. As a part of the Medicine Care Group we are partnered with the Acute Medical Unit and Ambulatory Care Unit providing Emergency Care to the South Lakes and North Lancashire.

We are a supportive multi-professional and multi-agency team working with our integrated Children’s and Young Peoples Nurses, Adult Mental Health Liaison Team and Hospital Ambulance Liaison Officers along with specialist Nurses who in-reach.

The Emergency Department supports lifelong learning and development and is committed to the continuing development of our trained nurses developing the wide portfolio of clinical skills required to work in the Emergency Department. You will have access to a dedicated Practice Educator who will support your development; once settled and established within the team Registered Nurses are offered further fabulous learning opportunities including:

The ward accepts step up patients from the Emergency Department and step down patients from the acute wards at Furness General.

The service supports people with a wide variety of conditions including elderly care, frailty and falls, orthopaedics and long term condition management including palliative care for residents of Furness and  South Lakes . We facilitate a rehabilitation programme to enable patients to return home as soon as possible.
