We are inviting applications from suitably experienced doctors who are seeking a career development opportunity as a Trust Associate Specialist in Emergency Medicine. We would also consider applications from doctors who do not yet meet the specifications for Associate Specialist but could initially undertake a speciality grade position while being supported and developed to achieve the required skill set.

The post is based at Furness General Hospital and represents career development opportunity for clinicians with imagination, drive and commitment to develop Emergency Medicine whilst working with the current team to develop integrated services as part of the Better Care Together Project. We will consider applications from specialty grade doctors and support them in a developmental role to achieve the Trust Associate Specialist grade.

As a Senior Doctor working in the Emergency Department you will be expected to deliver high quality emergency care and to be responsible, along with Emergency Department (ED) Senior colleagues, for the reception, resuscitation, diagnosis and emergency treatment of patients attending the ED. You will supervise the appropriate referral of patients Non-ED specialist teams (within the Trust or tertiary referral where necessary) General Practice and other community–based services.

We are looking for a General Radiologist with a specialist interest – the sub speciality is flexible to fit in with the needs of the Trust and the applicant’s interests and we would rather appoint a strong applicant than having a particular requirement for any specific subspecialty.

We invite you to join an established team of 16 Radiologists in providing a comprehensive diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Service for the population of North Lancashire and South Cumbria. We all contribute to the general workload of the department, including CT, US, MRI and plain film reporting and participate in the on call rota (1:16). We outsource on call work from 8 pm (weekdays) and 5 pm (weekend and Bank holidays) to provide a more palatable and sustainable working pattern.

We have good administrative support, highly integrated voice recognition (Dragon 11 Medical with HSS CRIS) and have an active programme to refresh equipment. (Three new CT scanners, three new MR scanners and 16 new USS machines in the last four years). The PACS has been upgraded to a state of the art SECTRA system along with replacement of all the reporting monitors. A new SPECT CT system has been given approval at Furness General Hospital with plans for a similar replacement in nuclear medicine at the Lancaster site.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Rheumatology team within the University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT). We are seeking a clinician with imagination, drive and commitment to work across Morecambe Bay.

10PA Full time, but applications would be welcome from those wishing to work part time.

This is a great opportunity to be part of the Rheumatology Department who are seeking a replacement Consultant Rheumatologist to join a team of 3.5 consultants, 4 specialist registrars, 2 GPSI’s, specialist nursing staff and fully functional wider MDT, supported by input from all associated specialties.

This is a replacement post and we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and forward-looking rheumatologist. There is no GIM commitment for this post. The post is for a full-time contract (10 PAs) but the option to work flexibly (less than full time) exists if it is the candidate’s preference. The job is available as soon as a successful candidate is appointed. The appointee will be required to offer the appropriate level of skills in general rheumatology whilst expertise in a sub-specialist area would be welcomed, particularly in ultrasound

We actively encourage involvement in research and education. There are plenty of opportunities to work with Lancaster University and Lancaster Medical School.

Applicants must possess MRCP or equivalent, be fully registered with the GMC and hold a license to practice. Applicants must have entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Rheumatology via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview date).

The post will be based at Lancaster Royal Infirmary. with the expectation  to work at the other sites as required.

Clinical Oncology sessions will be held at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals.

Specialist/Trust Associate Specialist in Oral Surgery

Applications are invited for the post of a specialist in oral surgery to join our Maxillofacial surgical team in UHMBT with cross bay working. You will be full time and also be on the on call rota, depending on experience.  If experience is appropriate, you could be appointed as a Trust Associate Specialist in Oral Surgery.

The Department of Maxillofacial Surgery is extremely dynamic and innovative. It consists of 3 consultants, 1 Associate Specialist, 1 Specialty doctor,1 St3+ trainee and 2 oral surgery DCTs. 

You will be encouraged to develop your surgical skills and will gain excellent experience in the management of Maxillofacial in-patients, out-patients and emergencies. You will be encouraged to become part of the team. An interest in dental implants would be helpful but not essential.

The Trust has a strong teaching ethos and has its own medical school with students completing their whole training in this area, following the Liverpool curriculum, and as part of Lancaster University. Dental Undergraduate students attend from UCLAN and University of Leeds.

A seven day Bleeding Service is in operation. The post holder will be expected to perform urgent Endoscopy at Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) on Saturdays & Sundays on a 1:5 rotation.
