You will join an existing team of forward thinking Consultants based at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust. 10PA Full time, but applications would be welcome from those wishing to work part time.

This is a great opportunity to be part of the Rheumatology Department who are seeking a replacement Consultant Rheumatologist to join a team of 3.5 consultants, 4 specialist registrars, 2 GPSI’s, specialist nursing staff and fully functional wider MDT, supported by input from all associated specialties.

This is a replacement post and we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and forward-looking rheumatologist. There is no GIM commitment for this post. The post is for a full-time contract (10 PAs) but the option to work flexibly (less than full time) exists if it is the candidate’s preference. The job is available as soon as a successful candidate is appointed. The appointee will be required to offer the appropriate level of skills in general rheumatology whilst expertise in a sub-specialist area would be welcomed, particularly in ultrasound

We actively encourage involvement in research and education. There are plenty of opportunities to work with Lancaster University and Lancaster Medical School.

Applicants must possess MRCP or equivalent, be fully registered with the GMC and hold a license to practice. Applicants must have entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Rheumatology via CCT (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of the interview date).

Our Team consists of 11 Orthopaedic Consultants, 4 Associate Specialists, 6 middle-grade Speciality Doctors, 3 SPRs (ST3), two CT’s, one Trust Doctor (at CT level), two foundation year 2 doctors and 3 foundation year 1 doctors.

We are a University Hospital Trust and you will have opportunities to get involved with medical student training and may become an honorary lecturer at Lancaster University. You will be supported in developing an appropriate Personal Development Plan and encouraged to work toward maximising their academic achievements. The last three post holders have successfully gained their FRCS (Tr & Orth) exams whist in post.

F3/Trust Intermediate Grade Doctor

We are looking for three enthusiastic Doctors to join our Trust who have successfully completed Year 2 Training or equivalent in our newly established F3/Trust Doctor roles. We are looking for a General Radiologist with a specialist interest – the sub speciality is flexible to fit in with the needs of the Trust and the applicant’s interests and we would rather appoint a strong applicant than having a particular requirement for any specific subspecialty.

We invite you to join an established team of 16 Radiologists in providing a comprehensive diagnostic Imaging and Interventional Service for the population of North Lancashire and South Cumbria. We all contribute to the general workload of the department, including CT, US, MRI and plain film reporting and participate in the on call rota (1:16). We outsource on call work from 8 pm (weekdays) and 5 pm (weekend and Bank holidays) to provide a more palatable and sustainable working pattern.

We have good administrative support, highly integrated voice recognition (Dragon 11 Medical with HSS CRIS) and have an active programme to refresh equipment. (Three new CT scanners, three new MR scanners and 16 new USS machines in the last four years). The PACS has been upgraded to a state of the art SECTRA system along with replacement of all the reporting monitors. A new SPECT CT system has been given approval at Furness General Hospital with plans for a similar replacement in nuclear medicine at the Lancaster site.

Paediatric Department Royal Lancaster Infirmary

LAS Doctor (ST1/2 Level) – 2 posts required until 1st February 2019 to cover gaps in the rota provided by the NW Deanery

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust covers a large geographic area which encompasses the Furness Peninsula, the City of Lancaster and the Lake District. Paediatric Services are provided on two main sites; at Furness General Hospital and Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

The posts are based in the Paediatric Department at Royal Lancaster Infirmary and involve day to day care of patients on the Children’s Unit, NNU and Post-natal Ward.

You will be required to participate in the first on call shift rota which provides cover for the Children’s Ward, Neonatal Unit, Post-natal Ward and Delivery Suite 24/7. You will be supported by a full middle grade rota with Consultant on call from home out of hours. The rota operates a full shift system composed of mainly GPST1 and 2 Doctors with 1 Paediatric ST1 doctor. The clinical duties of the post include the day to day care of patients on the Children’s Unit, assessment unit and post-natal ward with some input to the Neo-natal Unit.

The Children’s Ward at Royal Lancaster Infirmary consists of a 23 bedded in patient ward with 2 high dependency beds and also an adjacent 6 bedded acute assessment Unit. There is also an adjacent Day Care unit. NNU is a level 2 unit with 10 cots, including 2 intensive care cots.
