A part-time vacancy has arisen for an experienced Healthcare Science Assistant in the Blood Science service at Furness General Hospital, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.

Based in the Biochemistry section, you will be joining a busy team providing an essential service for patients in the North Lancashire and South Cumbria area.

This is an interesting and challenging position which would ideally suit someone with previous Pathology laboratory experience who is able to work under pressure to extremely high standards.

You will be contracted to work 18.75 hours over 6 days each week, 09:00-12:00, Monday to Friday and 09:15-13:00 on Saturday.

Anyone newly appointed to the Trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.

A full-time vacancy has arisen for an experienced Healthcare Science Assistant in the Blood Sciences Laboratory at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.

Based in the Biochemistry section, you will be joining a busy team providing an essential Blood Science service for patients in the North Lancashire and South Cumbria area.

This is an interesting and challenging position which would ideally suit someone with previous Pathology laboratory experience who is able to work under pressure to extremely high standards.

You will be contracted to work 37.5 hours per week on a rota;

Week 1: 10:30-17:30 Monday to Friday, with a 30 minute unpaid break each day. 

Week 2: 14:30 21:30, Monday to Friday, with a 30 minute unpaid break each day.

Additionally you will work 1 in 3 Saturdays and 1 in 3 Sundays, 08:45 – 17:15 with a 1 hour unpaid break.

Anyone newly appointed to the Trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.

Applications are invited from experienced phlebotomists to work within the established phlebotomy team at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

You will be involved in providing a Phlebotomy service to the wards on the Royal Lancaster Infirmary site.

Working hours – 15 hours per week
Monday – Saturday . 08:00 – 12:00 3 days and  1 day 09.00 – 12.00 (to be agreed)

You will need to have experience in undertaking venepuncture.

This is an interesting position and you will be joining a team which provides a service combining a unique mix of duties and skills.

Waterloo House Surgery is seeking an enthusiastic person to join our team as a Health Care Assistant, to work with our supportive group of four Practice Nurses and two established HCAs. This is a full time position 37.5hrs however a job share would be considered.

We are a very friendly team, based in Millom in a newly built surgery.

We are able to support and develop a new HCA starting with basic phlebotomy procedures or recruit an NVQ Level 2/3 qualified HCA who wishes to take on a wide and fulfilling caseload. Rate of pay offered will reflect the skills you already have and be reviewed as you develop within the role.
