We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and highly motivated Health Care Support Worker to join our friendly team in the Community setting.

Your role will involve working independently and as part of a team to provide support to the Nursing staff and you will be part of a highly dedicated multi-disciplinary team with a focus to provide high, safe quality care for patients in their own homes. You will be required to participate in providing 24 hour cover.

This role requires excellent communication skills and it is essential that you have the ability to work on your own initiative and can work independently

The department is committed to support continuous education and professional development.

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.

Applications are invited for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our Midwifery Team at Helme Chase Maternity Unit at Westmorland General Hospital as a Band 3 Maternity Assistant.

You will be working alongside midwives to provide care to women and their families before, during and after chidbirth. The role includes undertaking screening, infant feeding support, venepuncture and supporting the midwifery staff at delivery in all settings such as the unit, antenatal clinic and in the community.

You must have excellent interpersonal skills and work effectively within a team, whilst being able to organise your own workload.

The hours that are covered include unit shifts 8am-8pm Monday to Friday and unit/community shifts of 8am-4pm or 9am -5pm seven days a week including bank holidays.

You will have experience of working with women and families and have knowledge and experience within the health care setting.

Willingness to undertake newborn hearing screening may be required, and ability to undertake venepuncture is essential. Other job essential and mandatory training will be provided and the Trust actively encourages staff development.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Physiotherapy Team as a Technical Instructor, helping to deliver Physiotherapy rehabilitation to a wide range of patients across an acute hospital site. Offering you the opportunity to experience a variety of clinical areas at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary in a rotational post.

Duties will include providing face to face therapy to patients, data inputting, health & safety tasks and general admin duties.

You will work with clinical teams assisting with the assessment and treatment of patients across a range of wards & Out Patient Departments. Support will be given from experienced, specialist Physiotherapists, to develop your knowledge and skills. We have a very welcoming and friendly team that are always ready to help.

To join the team  you will need relevant experience in health or social care as a therapy or healthcare assistant or an NVQ level 3 in a subject relevant to therapy or rehabilitation (see person specification for details).

Returning to practice can seem a little daunting and this programme aims to support you for a period of 3 – 6 months working in a Heath Care Support Worker role ahead of commencing a return to practice programme. This valuable transition period will provide support to enable you to make right decisions regarding your career and re-introduction to studying through completion of the Care Certificate.

We have 5 places available across our Better Care Together health and care partners in North Lancashire and the South Lakes.

Opportunities will be discussed on an individual basis; and tailored to you; depending on the area of healthcare you are interested in gaining experience (or whether you would be interested in placements across different specialties / organisations). This will enable you to make the best of this first-rate opportunity to enable the right fit for you.
